If you want to see Hobart CBD and beyond, this is the right place to visit. It is just 20 minutes drive from Hobart CBD. It’s quite a scary drive up the mountain if you are not fond of heights. It has narrow road and very high up there (about 1,271 metres, 4,170 ft) and has some steep cliffs adjacent to the road. The summit often 8 degrees lower than that of the CBD, so checking the weather is ideal, you wouldn’t want to be toasted in the cold especially in winter.
I have created a short video of my experience going to Mt Wellington.
The featured photo was taken in 2017. Spending a little bit late to watch the sunset is worth the wait.
The photos above were taken during winter way back 2015 from a fellow classmate.
It is said that 300,000 people visit Mount Wellington each year, despite not having shopped at the top, the magnificent view will take your worries away!
